The recent high temperatures and low rainfall are creating a challenge for our regional water system. As a result, the City of Celina and Upper Trinity Regional Water District have initiated the Stage 1 of their Drought Contingency Plan, effective June 28, 2022.
Stage 1 – Water Watch
Goal – 5% reduction in overall water usage
Check for water leaks and make necessary repairs
No watering between 10 AM and 6 PM
Cars, trucks, boats, and other vehicles may be washed ONLY using a hand-heucket or a hose with a shut-off nozzle
No power washing of buildings, pavement, windows, or other hard structures
Avoid draining and refilling swimming pools
Limit irrigation to 2 days per week (see table below for schedule
Even-Numbered Addresses - Sundays and Thursdays
Odd-Numbered Addresses - Wednesdays and Saturdays
Violations could result in any combination of warnings, reconnection fees, suspension of service, monetary penalties, citations, and fees.
