Attention Light Farms Residents,

Below you will find a summary of details discussed at the latest Collin County MUD 1 Board of Directors meeting that took place on May 22, 2024. These meeting summaries will be published following each meeting to increase transparency and resident inclusion.

Collin County MUD 1 welcomed three new board members following the recent Directors Election. These members are: President - Johnny Moyer, Vice President - Jeff Miles, and Secretary - Miranda Stockhausen.

The Board observed the opinions of their residents regarding board meeting announcements, erosion concerns, and the local fish population.

Discussions were held with the District’s Communication Consultant regarding committee members, increased website and social media transparency, and the increased awareness of District contact information for residents to effectively voice their concerns.

The Board of Directors then proceeded in great detail with the District’s General Manager and a representative from the GOLD Landscaping team regarding the status of District projects, improvements, and updates. These included:

· Signage and Public Safety concerns

· The status of open Tracker Ticket items

· Landscaping, mowing, and erosion concerns

· Progress regarding the Tree Replacement Program

· The review of multiple proposals for District improvements

The Board of Directors discussed the establishment of multiple committee groups tasked with developing solutions for the concerns previously mentioned. These committees are designed to produce District progress in a timely manner. As well as the communications committee, the Board assigned a Public Safety Committee, Johnny Moyer and Jeff Miles, who will work to solve the following issues: speed limits, crosswalk safety, school zones, and signage. At the next meeting, the Board will establish committees for budget and finance, landscaping and other issues related to the district.

The Board has scheduled a Workshop Meeting on Tuesday, June 11th at 6:00 PM and the next regular Board of Directors meeting on Monday, June 24th at 6:00 PM. Please continue to check the District website for more information.
